GTS Central Europe (GTS) has received the prestigious MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) award “Regional Service Provider of the Year”, which recognizes the company’s leadership in the development and delivery of Ethernet services in EMEA region. GTS has also been nominated in the “Best Wholesale Ethernet Services” category.
During the last couple of years, Ethernet has become a core company focus. GTS’s end-to-end Ethernet platform with more than 750 switches across the Central and Eastern Europe provides its customers with seamless high-bandwidth solutions and the benefits of flexibility and scalability. Another of GTS’s pioneering achievements in the Ethernet field is the certification that its services meet MEF specifications and the successful completion of the MEF Professional Certification Program by GTS’s network engineers, which validates their Carrier Ethernet expertise. GTS is so far the first and only CEE-based operator to obtain both certifications, positioning the company as a clear leader in this part of Europe.
“Our business and wholesale customers increasingly rely on the Ethernet, and to meet their needs we have continuously been investing in this essential technology by expanding solution portfolio, geographical reach and speed up to 40G, with 100G coming soon.” - said Marcin Kotlarski, Head of Group Product Development at GTS.” We are delighted to be recognized by the MEF Awards’ jury, and we look forward to maintaining the leading position in Ethernet evolution in EMEA region”.
GTS Ethernet services range from point-to-point and point-to multipoint E-Line, to meshed multipoint-to-multipoint E-VPN and were recently broadened by the launch of Ethernet based Media Line for media content distribution. To give wholesale customers better access to its Ethernet services, the company has recently joined Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange, as a complement to private E-NNIs.
