Cluj Napoca, March 16, 2016 - GTS Telecom, one of the leading providers of infrastructure-based telecommunications services in Romania, announces the opening of its first data center in Cluj-Napoca, in Liberty Technology Park. The investment in this second Romanian Data reaches 500,000 euros and is estimated to go to 1 million euros in the following period.

In view of an increasing demand for data center, cloud (virtualization), disaster recovery and business continuity services, GTS Telecom continues to invest in its data centers, after just having completed an investment of 1 million euros last year, expanding and modernizing the Bucharest Data Center, owned and operated by the company since 2007. The number of contracts for colocation and cloud (Infrastructure as a Service - IaaS) services provided by GTS Telecom in Romania increased by an annual average of 25% over the past two years.

“The launch of the Cluj-Napoca GTS Telecom Data Center comes as an answer to the growing demand from companies for this type of services but also to the potential of Cluj-Napoca city in the technological field, through a wide range of communication and infrastructure services. Cloud and data center services continue to be at the center of customers’ attention for optimizing their business, so we maintain our optimism as far as development in this direction goes,” according to  Razvan Stoica, General Manager of GTS Telecom.

The GTS Data Center from Cluj -Napoca, located in Liberty Technology Park, covers an area of 140 square meters and is equipped with technology of 2015 standards. This investment secures the availability of colocation services offered by GTS Telecom and further guarantees the standards of quality delivered to customers: 100% operational availability of the colocation environment, versatile data connections for any capacity, extremely generous accessibility, exceptional response times for customer requests and deployment time for installing new pieces of equipment in the collocation area.

"We are excited about the way our partners welcomed us in Cluj-Napoca and the fact that, with this release, we are expanding the range of colocation and disaster recovery services, given that we currently have two data centers in Romania, on two different tectonic faults. Our customers can confirm that GTS data centers are of exemplary design, implementation and telecom services and cloud maintenance execution, and that we have managed to build long-term partnerships together, something we wish to continue in Cluj-Napoca", said Razvan Stoica.

This year’s investment from Cluj-Napoca is the third significant investment made by GTS Telecom in its data centers in a period of just two years. The duration was od just four months, from design to implementation.
