GTS Telecom, one of the leading providers of infrastructure-based telecommunications services in Romania, announces the investment of 1 million euros into the expansion and modernization of its Bucharest data center. The decision came as a result of increased demand in this segment of the market. This is the second data center investment the company has made in the last two years.
The number of contracts for colocation and cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions provided by GTS in Romania has increased by 30%. To sustain this growing demand, GTS Telecom has expanded its Bucharest data centre surface by 60% and has brought its technology to 2015 standards. This investment secures availability for colocation services offered by GTS Telecom and further guarantees the quality standards provided until now: 100% operational availability of the colocation environment, an exceptional response time for customer requests and implementation time for new equipment.
"Cloud and data center services were a priority for us in the last years, as a response to the growing interest of customers to streamline business through virtualization and colocation services. We continue to steadily invest in our IT&C portfolio, so we can offer our customers a full range of communications and infrastructure services", said Razvan Stoica, GTS CEO.
The 2015 data center investment is the second significant one GTS Telecom has made in less than two years. The design and implementation phase took 6 months, following a late 2013 investment into extending the Bucharest data center and cloud infrastructure, a venture of 600,000 euros.
