GTS Central Europe, a leading infrastructure-based telecommunications operator and provider of data center services in Central and Eastern Europe is proud to announce the launch of the new product: GTS Ethernet VPN (GTS E-VPN). This new service is a direct response to our customer’s growing demand for large volumes of data transmission across their networks. GTS E-VPN, delivered via the homogeneous GTS Ethernet platform across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania, will allow business customers to easily and cost effectively link multiple locations in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

GTS Ethernet VPN is the ideal solution for companies which need to extend their local area networks in a multi-site configuration without significant investment expenditure. The simplicity and familiarity of Ethernet combined with the benefits of scalability and flexibility to adjust the bandwidth up to 1 Gbps, enables companies to upgrade their existing corporate networks for converged data, voice and video services in the most efficient manner.

The service is provided in two versions:

Ethernet Private LAN (EP-LAN) – port-based service providing high level of transparency, which allows full control of all protocols.

Ethernet Virtual Private LAN (EVP-LAN) – port plus VLAN based service, which can be configured to support multiple EVCs on a single port.

GTS announced the roll out of its Ethernet services in June 2010, by introducing GTS Ethernet Line, a service created for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connections, suitable for the application of backup data centers or Internet access. GTS Ethernet VPN is ideal for creation of the virtual private networks with full meshed (any-to-any) topology. GTS is one of the first operators, which offers a unified mix of end-to-end Ethernet solutions for whole CEE region.

“GTS E-VPN solutions are a perfect alternative to IP VPN, adding advantages such as lower latency and higher bandwidth rates. With our 17,000 km fiber network we provide our business partners a broad on-net geographic coverage, unrivalled in the CEE region. Thanks to our extensive partnerships we are also able to provide the same quality of Ethernet service outside of GTS’s core countries, including the Baltics, the Balkans, Turkey and Ukraine,” said Ignacio Irurita, Group CTO at GTS.

The service is combined with a wide array of access technologies, including fiber optic, wireless and Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), as well as different variants of service level agreements (SLAs) and performance monitoring, which gives the most optimal solution for metro and WAN data transmission applications.
