GTS Central Europe (GTS), a leading infrastructure-based telecommunications operator and data center service provider in CEE, will provide its long standing client, UniCredit Bank, with over 60m2 of data center services in Czech Republic. The UniCredit group has already been using GTS data center services for its secondary colocation operations for a long period of time. Now, UniCredit, one of the most important banks on the Czech market, has decided to move its primary data center to GTS and thus will close an additional contract with the operator, its current data center service provider on the Czech market.

“We have carefully considered all tenders which we received and the offer submitted by GTS was the most advantageous for us. Moreover, we have experience with GTS and thanks to our long-time cooperation, we know that they really are able to provide service at the requisite performance to price ratio. The security of our data is absolutely crucial to us and GTS is able to provide the required level of service,” said Radek Kohoutek, UGIS (UniCredit Global Information Services).

In connection with the relocation of the entire UniCredit group to its new headquarters, it was also necessary to move its primary data center. The secondary data center was already located at GTS premises but the primary center was up until the move located in the bank headquarters and administered by UGIS (UniCredit Global Information Services), a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank. As part of UniCredit group’s move to its new administrative center, the bank decided to use GTS services for the hosting of its primary data center.

The over 60m2 of data center services which GTS offered UniCredit is located in the CE Colo facility in Prague. CE Colo is a subsidiary of GTS group with focus on providing carrier-neutral data center services in CEE region.

GTS now operates 14 facilities with more than 13,000 square meters of customer space and available power capacity of more than 28 MW across five European countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia).

GTS places great emphasis on assuring the overall security (both physical and non-physical) and provides industry leading SLA’s on all core services in our data centers. In terms of security the data centers are equipped with several layers of including fenced parameters, CCTV, proximity access cards, fingerprint readers, cages as well as 24/7 security guards on site. Security is further enhanced by a central automatic fire detection and gas suppression system protecting all critical areas within the facility. To be able to guarantee our SLA’s for our core services, our technical infrastructure design is based on a minimum of N+1 configuration for cooling and back-up generators, and a 2N UPS distribution as a standard.  This means that in case of a component or grid Power failure we can support our customers through our own redundant systems. The performance of the air conditioning system, assuring temperature and humidity levels, is constantly monitored. Of course, there is continual proactive oversight of all the technical components of the data center by both engineers on site as well as through our central NOC.
